Infinix Zero 4 Full Review
This latest mid-range offering is claiming to be able to capture every moment you live in. Can it live up to expectations?
This is the full review of the Infinix Zero 4.
Design
The Zero 4 takes some cues from the design of a OnePlus 3 or HTC 10 down to the aluminum matte finish with plastic caps on the top and bottom portion to make way for signal reception.

The main attraction – the reasonably sized rear main camera with laser autofocus sits squarely at the top portion above the fingerprint sensor.
Further below will be the Infinix moniker.
The sides have a boxy outline but curves at the sides with chamfering for better grip.
Flipping the device over will reveal the 5.5 inch display taking up most of the space.
The chin houses the three, dotted, non-interchangeable and non backlit navigation keys.
Touring around side panels will tell you that the power button and a dual-nano SIM tray will be situated on the right side. While a dedicated micro SD card slot that supports up to 128GB is found on the opposite end.
Its 3.55m headphone jack is situated at the top while the microUSB port is flanked by speaker grilles at the bottom.
It’s cool and slippery to the hands yet feels solid at the same time. Finger gymnastics will always almost be required, but luckily, the one-handed feature is available to make things, well, handy.
Display
The budget-friendly Infinix Zero 4 will be sporting an 5.5 inch IPS LCD set at 1080p or 441ppi.
Viewing angles are great, colors are natural while blacks lean on the gray side.
No problems were met even when being used in direct sunlight.
Nothing much can be said here but a good display overall.
Camera
The main selling point here is the 16MP main snapper that comes with ‘Pro Mode’ if you want to tweak a few things before capturing an image.
Using its main camera on auto mode, the zero 4 delivered natural looking photos on daylight but for some reason, it struggles to find focus that resulted in blurry output.
During indoor shooting, it was able to lock-in on objects. Taking close up subjects provides a slight bokeh effect with a cloudy photo overall.
While it was able to capture fair details on low-light scenarios, it still struggled to have the proper focus. The LED flash will allow you to get decent quality when shooting in close proximities.
Buildings were a bit distinguishable during night time but focus issues continued to plague the Zero 4.
When recording videos, Zero 4 maxes out up to 1080p resolution with a little help from Optical Image Stabilization for smoother rendering. Again, the video was out of focus and cloudy overall.
Using the 8MP selfie snapper provided a smooth rendition of my face but colors are a bit on the paler side.
Performance
The Zero 4 runs on a MediaTek 6753 SoC which includes an octa-core CPU at 1.3GHz to go along with 3GB of RAM.
It comes with its own XOS flavor based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. A vertical app drawer is included if you are not fond of home screen icons.
Antutu benchmark gave the Zero 4 a score of 40,369.
Sure, it’s not going to smash any records but the phone can handle daily apps, tasks and casual games.
Real Racing 3 and Gangstar Vegas 4 were playable at best but the experience may be lacking for those who want more out of the phone. Suffice to say, the Zero 4 cannot go past casual usage and low-tier games.
Using the fingerprint sensor was fast and accurate but could be better if not for the animations.

Battery
Being powered by a 3200mAh battery pack, the Zero 4’s endurance was pretty impressive.
It was able to withstand almost 25hours of standby time with 4hours of screen on time. If that’s not enough to impress you, topping up the device took only an hour and 30mins from zero to full charge.
Audio
Even with two speaker grilles, sound is only produced on the left side.
Its quality is good and a touch louder compared to phones in the same category.
Price and Verdict
Infinix Zero 4 retails for Php10,990 or $220USD via Lazada.
Buying Zero 4 will get you a decent battery life and a good build on a phone but the camera focus issue and raw performance might leave you looking for another device.
